For those who are missing going to Sears at the mall, your worries are over. King of the Road Auto Sales is now the home to the local Sears outlet.

“It’s been an awful lot of work, but it is pretty rewarding,” said Bob King of King of the Road Auto Sales. “Now you shop at Sears, you order, and you come and pick it up. You drive up to the door and only walk three feet to get into the building.”

King said that during a campfire at the lake in late September, people were lamenting the closing of the Sears outlet.

“We looked into what we could do. Sears said they wanted us to put in a catalogue store,” said King. “We ended up opening in early October.”

He suggested that people look for what they want to order online, and then call the Sears line at 250-489-3301.

“That way we’ll be able to place the order, do quality control and track it. This is where it comes and this is where it can be returned if there are any issues,” said King.

The new Sears catalogue store is at King of the Road Auto Sales at 444 Van Horne St. S, in Cranbrook.
