Top Crop Garden, Farm & Pet is supporting the 2012 East Kootenay Regional Science Fair with a $250 donation. This year’s Science Fair has the theme Engineering and Geosciences and will be hosted at the College of the Rockies gym in Cranbrook on February 22 and 23. There will be a competitive fair for Grades 6 to 12 on Wednesday while students from Kindergarten to Grade 6 are showing their projects in a non-competitive fair on Thursday. There will also be guest speakers, hands-on activities for the students and several community groups will be participating in a science celebration.

Last year, over 500 students participated in the East Kootenay Regional Science Fair and over 260 projects were shown. Four students from the competitive fair were chosen to represent the East Kootenay at the Canada-wide Science Fair in Toronto. They had their most successful year yet, winning two bronze medals in the intermediate category and scholarships to the University to Western Ontario.
