Stopped speeder nets large marijuana bust

On Saturday, October 7th two members of the Cranbrook RCMP were conducting speed enforcement on Highway 3/93 just north of Cranbrook when they pulled a vehicle over travelling in excess of 130 kph.

A 29 year old male was the only occupant in the vehicle and a search of the vehicle located over 4 kgs of packaged marijuana with an estimated street value of $16,000.

The driver of the car, a resident of Calgary, was arrested and later released pending a court appearance in Cranbrook Provincial Court on charges of Possession of a Controlled for the Purposes of Trafficking.
